Computing Systems

Use NREL's high-performance computing (HPC) systems to investigate, build, and test models of complex phenomena or entire integrated systems—that cannot be directly observed or manipulated in the lab, or would be too expensive or time consuming. Models and visualizations—for example, an entire wind plant or the microfibril structure of plants or evaluating novel materials for photovoltaics—are generating fresh knowledge that crosses traditional disciplinary boundaries.
