Syed Mohammad Najib Hasan has been a postdoctoral researcher at NREL since 2023. He specializes in III-V materials for optoelectronics, power electronics, and detectors. Syed earned a bachelor's degree in materials and metallurgical engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 2012, a master's degree in materials science and engineering from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Korea, in 2015, and a doctorate in electrical and computer engineering from The Ohio State University in 2023. With over 9 years of experience, Syed has worked extensively on semiconductor device design, fabrication, and characterization, including thin-film transistors, diodes, radiation detectors, LEDs, and lasers. His doctoral research focused on III-V compound semiconductor nanotechnology, specifically molecular beam epitaxial growth, and characterization of thin films and nanoscale materials, leading to novel optoelectronic device realizations. At NREL, Syed's current research revolves around oxide and nitride materials, aiming to integrate these cutting-edge materials into the next generation of energy-efficient electronic devices.
