Shubham Sundeep
Postdoctoral Researcher-Electrical Engineering
Shubham Sundeep, an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) student member, completed his B.Tech. in electrical engineering in 2015, followed by an M.Tech. in power electronics, electrical machines, and drives from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi in 2017. He achieved his Ph.D. in electronic and electrical engineering from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, in 2022, specializing in electrical machines and drives (EMD). His doctoral work focused on the high-frequency modeling of electric drives, which significantly contributes to understanding the impact of Wideband-gap semiconductor devices on these systems. Additionally, during his M.Tech., devised a novel sensorless operation technique for permanent magnet brushless DC electric (BLDC) motor, also known as an electronically commutated motors, showcasing his innovative contributions to the field. Shubham currently serves as a postdoctoral researcher at NREL, with a primary focus on designing a drivetrain for mechanical energy storage systems. From 2017 to 2018, he contributed as an R&D Engineer at EATON Corporation, specializing in the control and operation of synchronous drives. Shubham has authored and coauthored 16 publications, including five IEEE transactions and 11 papers for IEEE and IET conferences. Shubham's diverse research interests span high-frequency modeling, condition monitoring, diagnostics, prognostics, and control and operation of electric drives.
