Nick Cindrich is a Researcher II in mechanical engineering in NREL’s Residential Buildings research group and works to advance the development and deployment of advanced energy-efficient building practices. He provides subject matter guidance to the Solar Decathlon Build Challenge competition and organizer teams and provides technical research and administrative support for the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Building America Program.

Prior to joining NREL, Nick worked in engineering design roles, equipment manufacturing, engineering consulting, residential home building, and green building rehabilitation, and supported DOE’s Building Technologies Office.
