Jason Coughlin focuses on project development and financing of renewable and clean energy systems with the Project Development & Finance​ group in the Accelerated Deployment and Decision Support Center. Currently, he is engaged in NREL’s sustainable aviation, Net Zero World, and Clean Energy on Reclaimed Mining Lands initiatives in addition to renewable energy development efforts in Puerto Rico.  In the past, Jason has been active in several U.S. Department of Energy-funded efforts targeting solar soft costs, as well as the Treasury 1603 program. Other areas of focus have included community solar, solar leasing and power purchase agreements, increasing access to solar for lower income households, solar on tribal lands, and distributed solar in Latin America.  Previous careers include banking, financial planning, rural housing development in Latin America, and the Peace Corps.
