Heidi Applegate is the senior advisor for strategic energy security research in NREL’s Energy Security and Resilience Center. She is responsible for providing research leadership and strategy development for the center’s strategic energy security portfolio. Her focus is on ensuring technical rigor in Energy Security and Resilience analyses, expanding NREL’s research portfolio, and developing informational materials for clients. Her areas of expertise include geopolitical and international economic influences, as well as data modeling and structured analytic tools. She has over 26 years of experience in the national security and foreign policy realm.
