Geoffrey joined NREL in October 2023 and is a Geoscience researcher in the Thermal Energy Science and Technologies Group. He has 13 years of experience in the geothermal industry working in borehole geology, geothermal exploration, conceptual modeling, and well targeting. He earned his doctorate from the University of Iceland, focusing on petrology, geochemistry, and volcanology. Previously, he worked as a geologist for the Geothermal Development Company in Kenya.
