Daphné Lubert-Perquel joined the Chemistry and Nanoscience Center at NREL in July 2022 as a Director’s Fellow with Justin Johnson. Her research focuses on the photophysical mechanisms of molecular systems for quantum-sensing applications. She uses a combination of optical and magnetic resonance spectroscopy techniques to study the light-matter interactions at the interface of 2D materials and molecular films. Her aim is to investigate the possibility of a digital state readout of the stored quantum information.
Daphné completed a doctorate at Imperial College London under the supervision of Sandrine Heutz and Chris Kay. During her doctoral work, she first used the combination of optical and magnetic resonance spectroscopy to investigate the effect of molecular geometry on the photoexcited triplet states of molecular thin films. Her postdoctoral research at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, University of Florida, then focused on using high-field electron spin resonance spectroscopy to study molecular nanomagnets for quantum gate applications.
