Working hand-in-hand with project principal investigators, other buildings program operations staff, NREL financial analysts, and line managers, Danny coordinates and manages staff and project assignments for more than 150 research staff. He ensures project deliverables and financial performance remain aligned with project plans. Danny also manages hiring for the Commercial Building Controls and Analytics group and acts as a central point of contact for program staff, business support resources within NREL, and external clients.

Danny previously focused on the development and novel execution of whole-building energy simulations using EnergyPlus and OpenStudio® to identify large-scale areas for the reduction and optimization of commercial building energy consumption. This project portfolio included leading NREL’s commercial building workforce development efforts, overseeing development of the Technology Performance Exchange, and managing the adaptation of EnergyPlus to the maritime environment.
