Danny joined NREL in 2009 and is the Project Controller for the Commercial Buildings Research Group (CBRG). He coordinates staff and project assignments, oversees and manages CBRG hiring, and ensures project deliverables and financial performance remain aligned with project plans. He acts as a central point of contact for CBRG staff, business support resources within NREL, and external clients.
With a technical background in energy modeling, he previously focused on the development and novel execution of whole-building energy simulations using EnergyPlusTM to identify large-scale areas for the reduction and optimization of commercial building energy consumption. His project portfolio includes leading NREL’s commercial building workforce development efforts, overseeing development of the Technology Performance Exchange, and managing the adaptation of EnergyPlus to the maritime environment.
Prior to joining NREL, Danny worked as an energy modeler at Architectural Energy Corporation (now NORESCO) in Boulder, Colorado.
