A hydrogen infrastructure research engineer, Daniel Leighton leads the hydrogen infrastructure and end-use team in NREL’s Center for Integrated Mobility Sciences. He also serves as the lead engineer overseeing two key projects—the building of an integrated, megawatt-scale hydrogen electrolysis, compression, energy storage, and fuel cell system at NREL’s Flatirons campus and the upgrade of the hydrogen fueling station at NREL’s Hydrogen Infrastructure Testing and Research Facility to accommodate medium- and heavy-duty fuel cell vehicles.
