NREL's research in energy security and resilience aims to minimize the occurrence of energy system disruptions and, when they occur, their impact on services, missions, and people.

NREL's Energy Security and Resilience research is funded by several programs within the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and by the DOE Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response. Work is also supported through partnerships with other federal agencies, states, local governments, international governments, and the private sector.
