NREL To Showcase Research at Transportation Research Board Meeting
Transportation and mobility researchers from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) will showcase their latest research at the 103rd Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Jan. 7–11, 2024. Held in Washington, D.C., TRB's annual meeting draws thousands of transportation professionals from around the world.
The program covers all transportation modes, with sessions and workshops addressing topics of interest to policymakers, administrators, practitioners, researchers, and representatives of government, industry, and academic institutions.
Presentations by NREL researchers will focus on a variety of topics, including transportation decarbonization, transportation modeling and analysis, sustainable aviation, airport wayfinding, electrified and on-demand transit, micromobility, vehicle automation, charging infrastructure analysis, mobility equity, and disaster resilience.
"Results being presented by NREL researchers are derived from a wide range of projects carried out in collaboration with other national labs, universities, and industry partners," said NREL's Venu Garikapati, a senior transportation data analytics researcher.
In addition to presenting at a variety of workshops, lectern sessions, and poster sessions, NREL will be moderating two workshops: Tools To Analyze Local-, State-, and National-Level Transportation Trends and Evolving Consumer Choices, Smartphones, Remote Work, Information and Communication Technology, and Mobility.
"NREL's extensive array of research topics reflect the lab's capabilities and expertise in developing sustainable mobility technologies and strategies, with a focus on providing equitable, cost-competitive solutions for decarbonizing passenger and freight transport," said John Farrell, NREL's laboratory program manager for vehicle technologies.
