Kestrel Update

Kestrel will be shipping soon and is on track for a Q4 availability!

As a reminder, Kestrel delivery was delayed by about one quarter, and will now be available at the start of Q4 this year. As a result, Eagle and Kestrel allocations will be updated to reflect the reduced capacity - all projects have been sent an updated allocation email reflecting these changes.

The Kestrel project team is currently using a test system with very similar architecture as Kestrel to make the installation and transition to operations go as smoothly as possible. Over the next 6 months, the applications group and ACO staff are preparing for Kestrel documentation by improving the hpc.nrel.gov website and moving more technical content Github. Overall, you can expect to see an improvement to user documentation by the time that Kestrel is online.
