Kestrel Resources Round-Up

Jan. 2, 2024

Welcome to Kestrel! We hope you have already been getting up-and-running on our newest system. This email is meant to provide an extra round-up of the resources that are available to you to help with transitioning to and working on Kestrel.

The Github Documentation Pages provide documentation about how to run jobs, set up your environment, and data manage data. Kestrel specific information can be found in Systems > Kestrel as well as under specific application headings. We are continuously making updates and adding tips, so please check back. The NREL HPC site will now only contain basic information as well as be a hub for general announcements and system status.

Many Kestrel related workshops are being held. These are advertised to all members of the Computational Sciences Tutorials Team to which you can add or remove yourself. Past recordings are uploaded under the Kestrel Recordings tab. Upcoming trainings are also posted to the Calendar on the Github Documentation Home Page.

The new Kestrel Teams Channel will be a place where announcements are made and a place where you can ask questions of your fellow users or available HPC team members.

The regularly scheduled HPC Office Hours are currently occurring with increased frequency. During these, the HPC team is available for drop-in questions and provides 1-on-1 assistance. Please see the Calendar on the Github Documentation Home Page for the meeting times.

Finally, if you need help, have questions, or encounter issues at any time with transitioning to Kestrel, please contact our team at hpc-help@nrel.gov and we'll be happy to assist you. This is a great way to get your questions answered as they get routed to the appropriate experts!
