Sixth Wind Energy Systems Engineering Workshop

Join NREL, the Technical University of Denmark, and the University of Colorado Boulder at the Sixth Wind Energy Systems Engineering Workshop to hear from speakers in academia, industry, and international research laboratories and discuss topics relevant to systems engineering and the wind industry.

The organizing committee will make a go/no-go decision for holding the workshop on these dates by Jan. 1, 2022, depending on whether international business travel will be permitted and safe in time for the workshop.

What To Expect

Highlights include keynotes from local Colorado wind and aerospace innovators; systems engineering sessions; systems engineering design tool advances; and a tour of a wind energy startup, manufacturing facility, or NREL's Flatirons Campus.

System engineering sessions will include focus on:

  • Evolving grid and economic landscape
  • Floating and controls
  • Wind farm design
  • Design with high-fidelity models
  • Industry perspectives
  • Expanding the “system” and design objectives to include hybrid plants, supply chain needs, grid resiliency, environmental impacts.

Registration

Registration information will be posted after the Jan. 1, 2022, go/no-go decision.

The workshop will include a modest registration fee to cover catering and facility costs.
