BLAST-Lite: Battery Lifetime Analysis and Simulation Tool - Lite

May 3, 2023, 00:00 AM
BLAST offers a comprehensive library of battery lifetime and degradation models tailored to contemporary commercial lithium-ion batteries. Leveraging NREL's battery life model identification toolkit and publicly available lab-based aging data, BLAST predicts the expected lifespan of batteries used in mobile and stationary applications, accounting for factors such as temperature, state-of-charge, depth-of-discharge, and charge/discharge rates. The models are implemented in both Python and MATLAB, with the MATLAB version providing additional features such as example applications for stationary storage and electric vehicles, climate data, and simple thermal management options.
