Daniel Beckley – Associate Laboratory Director for Facilities and Operations
Dan Beckley serves as associate laboratory director for Facilities and Operations at NLR, where he leads key operations organizations, including Site Operations; Environment, Safety, Health, and Quality; Laboratory Protection; and Information Technology.
Beckley also directs the laboratory's major campus expansion initiatives. He is spearheading the largest capital investment in NLR's history—the Energy Materials and Processing at Scale facility—a state-of-the-art, 127,000-ft2 laboratory designed to accelerate the scale-up of advanced energy materials and processes. His leadership ensures NLR maintains world-class facilities and operational excellence to advance the laboratory's mission and enable expanded research capabilities in critical minerals and energy innovation.
Since joining NLR in 2010, Beckley has held progressively responsible positions, including research operations director for Mechanical and Thermal Engineering Sciences, center director for Buildings and Thermal Sciences, and Buildings Technologies laboratory program manager.
Prior to NLR, he served as a presidential management fellow in the Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, later advancing to senior adviser to the deputy assistant secretary. He also gained international experience as a Peace Corps volunteer in El Salvador.
Beckley holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in international environmental policy.
