Daniel Beckley – Associate Laboratory Director for Facilities and Operations

Dan Beckley leads several operations-focused organizations at NREL, including site operations; environment, safety, health, and quality; security and emergency preparedness; and information technology.

He also oversees the next phase of NREL's campus construction, including the 127,000-ft² Energy Materials and Processing at Scale facility, ensuring the laboratory maintains world-class facilities and operations that support its mission and expand research capabilities.

Beckley joined NREL in 2010 and has served as research operations director for Mechanical and Thermal Engineering Sciences, acting center director for Buildings and Thermal Sciences, and Buildings Technologies laboratory program manager. Previously, he was a presidential management fellow at the U.S. Department of Energy, later serving as senior adviser to the deputy assistant secretary. He also served as a Peace Corps volunteer in El Salvador.

Beckley holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in environmental policy.
