Scott Struck has 20 years of water resources experience providing strategic and technical leadership to NREL on integrated water systems. Scott works across the NREL directorates performing strategic planning and research in water and wastewater treatment, supply and conveyance infrastructure, energy-water-food systems nexus and integrated water resource assessments to expand NRELs portfolio and to create high-impact research, programs, projects, internal and external teams, and partnerships. Scott regularly addresses existing problems or emerging issues through engaging with multi-disciplinary teams to develop scientifically based, applied solutions.

As a contributor to advancing the practice, Scott has authored over 50 publications including journal articles, technical reports, book chapters, guidance documents, and conference proceedings. He serves as an associate editor for the American Society of Civil Engineers Journal of Sustainable Water in the Built Environment and is active professionally with the American Society of Civil Engineers’s Environmental and Water Resources Institute, having served on their governing board and various committees.

Scott is an adjunct faculty member at the Colorado School of Mines and dedicates time to Engineers Without Borders, as a member of the Water Standing Committee and as a mentor and responsible engineer in charge to numerous projects in East Africa and Central America.
