Bashar Anwar
Researcher III-Model Engineering
Bashar Anwar works on modeling electricity markets, power system investments, the hydrogen economy, and grid integration of renewables through electric vehicles and demand response. In particular, Bashar is actively involved in developing and analyzing various models at NREL, including the Electricity Markets and Investment Suite (EMIS), Scenario Evaluation and Regionalization Analysis (SERA), and Transportation Energy & Mobility Pathway Options (TEMPO) models. His modeling expertise includes large-scale convex and non-convex optimization models, agent-based simulation models, and equilibrium and complementarity models.
