Spawn is a next-generation building simulation engine that builds on the strengths of NREL's EnergyPlus engine. It adds advanced HVAC and controls modeling capability by incorporating the Modelica equation-based modeling language. In effect, Spawn is a hybrid of EnergyPlus and Modelica, with some new software between the components to provide a seamless end-user experience.
