CU Boulder Master's Program in Next-Generation Power and Energy Systems (Text Version)

This is the text version of "CU Boulder Master's Program in Next-Generation Power and Energy Systems" video.

Video opens with a dark screen and a woman is facing the viewer. Her finger reaches up and touches the screen. A green light is emanating from the bottom of the frame.

A shot of two college-age individuals appears onscreen.

Voiceover: Hey you.

The omnipotent finger drags the image of the two individuals into the center of the screen, and they look at the viewer.

We need your help.

The finger slides the image of the two young people aside and a time-lapse of city traffic appears.

Today’s energy system is undergoing a major transformation.

The finger slides the image of traffic aside, and a shot of a palm outstretched, holding a white translucent sphere, representing possibility, appears.

The words, “Next-Generation Grid” appear superimposed onscreen.

What if you could be a driving force in our emerging energy ecosystem? What if you could design the power and energy systems of the future...

The finger slides the image of the hand and sphere aside, and a montage of clean energy technologies, including wind energy, solar energy, electric cars, and energy-efficient data centers, appears.

…integrating renewable energy sources into the power grid and balancing them with buildings, transportation, and storage?

The finger slides the montage aside, and an animated map displaying connected points of light appears. The words, “Cybersecurity & Resiliency” appear superimposed on screen.

Or, what if you could increase energy resiliency for the country…or maybe even the world?

The finger slides the map aside, and an image of a young woman working on an electrical engineering project appears on-screen. The CU logo and the words, “University of Colorado Boulder” appear onscreen above her head.

Would you choose to be so BOLD?

The finger slides the image of the woman aside, and a shot of three researchers working inside of NREL’s Insight Center appears onscreen. The words, “Autonomous Energy Grids” appear superimposed on screen.

With the energy sector evolving so rapidly, we need more engineers and decision makers who can help guide the industry’s journey.

The finger slides the image of the researchers aside and swipes an image of one of NREL’s data visualization upwards onscreen. The words, “Professional Master’s Program in Next-Generation Power and Energy Systems” appear superimposed on screen. Three additional images cascade from the visualization image.

Through CU Boulder’s Professional Master’s Program, you’ll have the opportunity to witness this transformation—first hand—and decide how you want to contribute.

The omnipotent finger goes through the stack of additional images, swiping them into the center of the screen. First is an image of an NREL researcher in front of a visualization. Next, is a researcher working in the Energy Systems Integration Facility. Next, are three other researchers working in the Energy Systems Integration Facility. And lastly, is another researcher viewing a visualization with 3D glasses. The NREL logo appears above all of the images.

Working with professors from the National Renewable Energy Lab and faculty from the University of Colorado, you’ll learn about the current challenges in our energy landscape.

You’ll gain the deep foundational knowledge to help come up with the solutions to make our world more sustainable.

Fingers pinch the screen and reveal three striking images of CU Boulder’s campus.

And you get to do it…here.

The words, “Energize The World” appear superimposed on screen.

Be bolder! Energize the world through the Next-Generation Power and Energy Systems graduate degree program.

The omnipotent finger pulls a stack of text onto the center of the screen, which reads, “Our Future Is Waiting / colorado.edu/ecee/nextgen-power-systems / Apply by December 1”.

Logos for NREL; CU Boulder; and the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute (RASEI) appear below the text.

Our future is waiting.

Go back to the story.
