>> Keisuke Sadamori, Director, Enery Markets and Security, International Energy Agency: The global power sector stands at a critical juncture in our fight against climate change. Large-scale deployment and integration of variable renewable energy sources, particularly wind and solar, are key to the energy transition. These renewables must work in concert with advanced technologies like nuclear and energy storage to create a resilient and clean power system. The transition brings tangible benefits beyond reducing emissions. Importantly, this shift promotes energy equity by increasing accessibility for all communities. The time to act is now. Our future depends on transforming our power systems today.

>> Jean-Francois Gagné, Head of Secretariat, Clean Energy Ministerial: At the time of the Clean Energy Ministerial creation 15 years ago, world leaders recognized that international collaboration is essential to accelerate progress on the critical challenge of the global clean energy transition. The CEM's unique approach of creating coalitions of clean energy leaders from governments, private sector, and civil society to help share best practices and create the necessary momentum has been key to our success.

And initiatives like the 21st Century Power Partnerships action plans for rapid power sector decarbonization are great examples of outcomes that help countries achieve their clean energy ambitions through clear, commonly articulated roadmaps that allow multiple stakeholders to buy into a joint vision and to learn from each other's actions.

>>Doug Arent, Executive Director, Strategic Public-Private Partnerships, National Renewable Energy Laboratory: We think these action plans are very helpful in terms of defining concrete pathways for power sector action, i.e., action plans, in planning, building, and operating to be able to lay out a concrete pathway for implementation, to hold one's selves accountable to actually making significant, tangible progress toward those ambitions that have been agreed to at the global level and implemented necessarily at the local level.

>>Paula Pinho, Director for Just Transition, Energy Efficiency, and Innovation, European Commission, DG Energy: The decarbonization of the power sector offers invaluable lessons about setting the right targets, engaging citizens, mobilizing investment, transforming industry, and making real, tangible changes in everyone's lives. This is why the European Commission joined the first cohort of countries which presented their action plans last year at the same Ministerial meeting in Goa. As we all go through similar types of challenges and decarbonizing the power sector, these action plans are instrumental in providing reliable lessons learned and best practices.

>>Thiago Barral, National Secretary of Energy Transition and Planning, Ministry of Mines and Energy, Brazil: Building Brazil's action plan, comparing it to other countries' action plans, and discussing ways to address these power sector transformation challenges has helped us gain confidence in our own policy decisions and planning efforts. CEM's 21st Century Power Partnership has offered us a flexible and integrated framework for international cooperation that is of huge value.

>> Julie Cerqueira, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office of International Affairs, U.S. Department of Energy: We have done a lot of good work, but there's more that needs to be done. As we look to the future, the Clean Energy Ministerial and the 21st Century Power Partnership will continue to play a fundamental role in decarbonizing global power systems, and we encourage you to be part of this growing community. And collaboration with changemakers around the world through initiatives like the country-led action plans are at the heart of this mission. Through our collaboration, innovation, and determination, we will continue to develop an inclusive energy sector for a cleaner and more sustainable world. The time to take action is now. So join the 21st Century Power Partnership and develop your own action plan today.
