NREL has a new laser-powered, metal 3D printer.
The 1.2-kW laser gets to temperatures over 2,500° Fahrenheit.
It can quickly build parts for marine energy devices and more.
With eight axes, the printer can build unique shapes and structures.
It enables NREL to do at-scale research.
Research capabilities include:
- Faster production
- Decreased costs
