NREL Supports Small Businesses in the Wind and Water Power Sectors (Text Version)

This is the text version of the video "NREL Supports Small Businesses in the Wind and Water Power Sectors."

Three-screen shot of a wind turbine, a bridge, a hydropower plant.

Front shot of NREL Research Fellow Bob Thresher speaking in front of machinery.

I believe that renewable energy wind, water, photovoltaics will eventually be the primary source of all energy for the planet.

Three-screen shot of wind turbines, storm clouds, ocean waves.

We can't afford to continue to burn hydrocarbons and pollute the atmosphere.

Climate change can have an impact on us and we can stop that now by developing these new technologies.

I really enjoy working here at the laboratory, primarily because I'm surrounded with very creative, inspired people who love what they're doing and are on a mission to change the way we generate our energy.

Front shot of computers running calculations, researchers pointing to computers transitioning into a back shot of researchers sitting behind five computer monitors and windows open to machinery followed by a front shot of a wind turbine blade undergoing tests; front shot of a man in a hard hat standing on top of a wind turbine blade to inspect it.

Everybody knows that small businesses are the source of almost all new innovation.

Back shot of a person wearing a vest and hard hat walking down the length of a wind turbine blade.

By working with small businesses, we can accelerate this change to a clean energy future.

The National Wind Technology Center is helping small businesses today to perfect their technologies, to help them new design studies, to help them with analysis.

Aerial shot of machinery undergoing tests at the Flatirons Campus facilities, 4 people in hard hats watch transitioning into front shot of three researchers examining data on a large computer monitor as well as a laptop monitor.

To help them with testing their testing their device, to help them with supply chain and deployment issues,

to help them with grid integration,

so that they're selling a device that has been proven here at the laboratory.

We can do this for both wind and water-power technologies.
