Call for Applications: Solar PV Training Program for City and County Staff

Oct. 9, 2017 by Alison Holm

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), with funding from the U.S. Department of Energy’s SunShot Initiative, is launching a training program for city and county staff to learn about putting solar on their facilities – whether it’s on municipal buildings or owned land. The training program will provide expertise on the following topics:

  1. Developing Your Municipal Solar Goals and Solar Team
  2. Using Solar for Resiliency
  3. Solar Site Assessment & Permitting
  4. Project Economics and Financing Options
  5. Solar Policies and Incentives
  6. Solar Procurement

Selected city and county staff will be enrolled in a free training program, launching this winter. Learning will take place remotely, and after completing the training, applicants will be connected with NREL staff to answer any remaining questions they have.

We’re launching the application via a webinar on October 26, 2-3 p.m. Eastern Time. Tune in to learn more about the program and how it can help you with your municipal solar goals.
