Christina "Tina" Ortega is a marine energy research engineer specializing in techno-economics and resource assessment. Her work focuses on power performance modeling, economic modeling, SAM development, and resource assessment for wave, tidal, and current energy systems. Prior to NREL, Tina helped conduct feasibility studies for offshore wind energy in Humboldt County, California. 

She received her B.S. in environmental resources engineering from California Polytechnic University—Humboldt, concentrating in energy resources and minoring in physics. She then received her M.S. in advanced energy systems from Colorado School of Mines.
