Stephen Chamot is a modeling engineer working on distributed embedded energy converter technologies (DEEC-Tec) at NREL. He joined the water power R&D group full time in 2022 after being an intern on the project for 6 months. Stephen’s work consists of the design and validation of testing apparatuses for the analysis and characterization of hyperelastic DEECs. He is excited to explore the flexible wave energy converter domain with the development of new and innovate renewable energy systems. Stephen also has experience in aeronautics, solid modeling, and product design through his mechanical consulting work with Earable and his senior design project with the Hypersonic Flight In the Turbulent Stratosphere research team at the University of Colorado Boulder.
