Selam joined NREL in 2019 as a research engineer in the Building Energy Science Group. She has experience in buildings control system integration and building data analysis. Her research focuses on semantic interoperability and standard development for building integration and data analysis.
Prior to joining NREL, Selam worked as an application engineer performing buildings control system integration. Her work included evaluation of existing control systems and algorithms, selection of control points for a central integration platform, creation of extended trend logs for further data analysis, application of fault detection rules, and development of custom graphics to facilitate system diagnosis.
