Saheed Bukola is a director’s fellow postdoctoral researcher at NREL in the Chemistry and Nanoscience Center. His current research exploits composite of two-dimensional nanomaterials/polymeric membrane architecture for ion cross-permeation mitigation in energy storage and fuel cells. He has published over 15 peer-reviewed journal articles and disclosed three U.S. patents. He currently serves as a reviewer for ACS Applied Energy Materials, Journal of Materials Science, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, and Journal of Energy Storage.

He earned his doctorate from Clemson University in South Carolina. During his doctoral work, he demonstrated high proton transmission through two-dimensional crystals embedded in membrane electrode assembly for hydrogen isotope fractionation. His versatility includes in-depth understanding of various electrochemical characterization techniques with relevant background in nanostructured electrode materials development for energy conversion and storage systems.
