Rebecca Fao has an M.S. in Atmospheric Science from the University of Wyoming. Before coming to NREL, she worked as a contractor to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center developing airborne and space-borne lidar data processing and calibration algorithms.
At NREL, she is primarily working as a programmer on marine hydrokinetic projects. She is working on the development of an open source toolkit to be used for resource and power assessments. She is also developing the MODAQ-Cloud system for data processing and storage for marine energy testing projects. Additionally, she is working with the wind energy team on various modeling and field research projects.
