Marisa Howe is the chief of staff for the Materials, Chemical, and Computational Science Directorate. In this role, she implements operational and strategic planning efforts focused on solar photovoltaics, hydrogen, energy storage, fundamental research in basic energy sciences, and computational science. She served in NREL's Basic Energy Sciences Program as a project leader for a decade, coordinating communications and deliverables. She also led the coordination of the Department of Energy's Solar Energy Research Institute for India and the United States for 5 years. She thrives when empowering and supporting the success of well-functioning leadership teams by addressing priorities and shepherding deliverables.
