Liz Weber joined NREL in 2018 as a Program Controller for the Joint Institute for Strategic Energy Analysis (JISEA). In her role, she provides project management for JISEA programs and studies related to natural gas and the U.S. electricity sector, energy storage, and other power sector issues. Her primary responsibilities include planning and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, and financial analysis. Weber also provides program support for NREL’s Vehicle Technologies Office.

Prior to joining JISEA, Weber was the Western Regional Manager for the American Forest Foundation where she managed a portfolio of collaborative partnerships across five states. Her experience includes working with federal and state agencies, universities, and local nonprofit organizations across the West to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfire and safeguard the watersheds on which local communities depend. Weber also held positions with the Colorado Department of Parks and Wildlife and the City of Boulder working on invasive species programs and policy.

Weber holds a master of environmental law and policy from Vermont Law School. She also holds a master of environmental science and a bachelor of science in biology from the University of Colorado.
