Research Interests

Kristin Smith is a research engineer in the Thermal and Catalytic Process Development Unit managing tasks on integration and scale-up for thermochemical processes. Her research interests include:

  • Catalytic upgrading of biomass-derived intermediates to fuels, chemicals, and materials

  • Development, integration, and verification of complex, predictive kinetic models linking bench-scale results with pilot-plant performance
