Joshua Van Natta is a software engineer and researcher at NREL’s Energy Security and Resilience Center, serving as software architect for NREL’s cyber range. He has led efforts for the U.S. Department of Energy Federal Energy Management Program to develop a cybersecurity framework for systems with distributed energy resource. He is an inventor and co-author of a patent for network visualization, intrusion detection, and network healing software. Van Natta has nearly a decade of experience developing enterprise software, building 3D graphics engines, and deploying distributed cloud technology. Before joining NREL he was responsible for maintaining high quality, user focused web and mobile applications in various industries including travel, biotechnology, and air quality monitoring.
