Jim is a member of NREL's water power program, where his focus is on supporting the Department of Energy's "Powering the Blue Economy" initiative. The initiative, which is investigating niche applications for wave energy converters, is a great fit for Jim whose graduate research and industry experience both supported this important research direction. Prior to NREL, Jim worked as an ocean engineer at Ocean Power Technologies, on the design and modeling of wave energy converters for powering of sensor systems in oil and gas applications.
