Jeff joined NREL in 2012 after working as a graduate student since 2010. His research focuses on building energy modeling, with a focus on residential water heaters and grid interactive efficient building (GEB) technologies. He has worked extensively on modeling heat pump water heaters, both developing new models and performing analysis on the impact of climate and other factors on their performance. Jeff is also the lead developer for OCHRE, a reduced order building energy modeling tool designed for capturing building/grid interaction and testing out advanced controllers such as foresee.
