David's primary focus at NREL is structural testing of wind turbine rotor blades. His expertise includes test equipment design, test method development, measurement uncertainty, and the management of blade test projects. He also works with the NREL Marine Hydrokinetic group in the areas of risk management and failure analysis.

David is a registered Professional Engineer in Arizona within the discipline of mechanical engineering; he is also a certified Project Management Professional with the Project Management Institute. Prior to joining NREL, David was an R&D engineer at Southwest Windpower and did engineering contract work for renewable energy manufacturers.
