Dave Biagioni

Computational Research Scientist

Dave Biagioni is a senior research scientist in the Complex Systems Simulation & Optimization Group within NREL’s Computational Science Center. His work involves the use of machine learning, artificial intelligence, optimization modeling and HPC to advance a range of science and engineering efforts at NREL. Dave is the principal investigator for an ongoing LDRD titled “Assessment of Reinforcement Learning for Model NREL Problems” in which scalable, deep RL is being investigated as a control and planning methodology for mobility on demand and other energy systems applications. He is keenly interested in collaborating with domain specialists to inject ML/AI into their research to leverage NREL’s HPC system to further accelerate their work.
