Caitlyn Clark is a senior researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Flatirons Campus in Boulder, Colorado. At NREL, she leads research teams, develops programmatic strategy, and is a key technical contributor to hybrid energy system, offshore wind energy, distributed grid, and green hydrogen (H₂) topics. Her expertise is in reliable and resilient energy systems design, and her work integrates technical, market, and policy factors to understand what future energy systems might look like, and what key advances need to be met to achieve that future. Prior to NREL, she received her doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University where she focused on reliability-based renewable energy systems design and optimization. During her doctoral tenure, she conducted research at Aalborg University in Denmark as a Fulbright Scholar and received a minor in Risk and Uncertainty Quantification in the Marine Sciences through the National Science Foundation National Traineeship.
