Bryan Mentlik is a project manager with the Resilient Systems Design and Engineering Group within NREL's Energy Security and Resilience Center. His areas of expertise include building resilience to systems from natural hazards and climate change and utilizing new technologies to better engage with stakeholders. Following completion of his master's degree in 2014, he spent several years working for New York City within their Emergency Management Department. This work culminated in a deployment to Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria where he worked directly with the mayor of San Juan to help rebuild the city.

Bryan Mentlik relocated to Colorado in 2018 to support the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA's) efforts to better engage with the public around their natural hazard risk and what can be done to reduce that risk.
