Shriram Santhanagopalan

Shriram Santhanagopalan leads the battery materials, analysis, and diagnostics team in NREL’s Center for Integrated Mobility Sciences. Working closely with leading battery and vehicle manufacturers, he has developed models, materials, and test methods to address battery performance and safety limitations. He participates in several committees focusing on battery standards and has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed articles and several book chapters. Before joining NREL, he was as a senior research scientist at Celgard, LLC, where he conducted fundamental studies of electrodes, evaluated polymers, developed new characterization tools for large-format batteries, and designed new components for automotive batteries.
