Mowafak Al-Jassim is a Principal Scientist and Group Manager at NREL. Dr. Al-Jassim has worked at NREL for more than 30 years, beginning as a postdoctoral researcher and advancing to a principal scientist and a technical manager. His research group has contributed greatly to world-record efficiencies in various photovoltaic technologies. Dr. Al-Jassim has more than 500 publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, and he has participated in the planning of numerous international conferences.

Research Interests

His research interests include the multiscale characterization of the structural, chemical, interfacial, optical, and electrical properties of bulk and thin-film semiconductors by TEM/STEM, CL, EBIC, AFM, and other techniques. His work has involved developing Si, III-V, and thin-film solar cells.

Education

M.Sc. Materials Science, Imperial College of Science and Technology, London
