Mike has spent over eight years supporting activities in the Integrated Applications Center (IAC), with a recent focus on the Department of Navy’s (DON) energy and water resiliency projects. Mike and his teammates were instrumental in helping DON reach their 1 GW renewable goal and catalyzing utility-scale solar-plus-storage projects on installations. In the last few years, Mike has been embedded with DON at Pearl Harbor and San Diego to support resiliency analysis for military installations on Pacific islands and the Southwestern US. Mike is also supporting rebuilding and resiliency activities in Caribbean Island Nations in partnership with the Department of State.
Mike began his career over 20 years ago, designing and managing large-scale engineering projects in five West African countries. Following his work in Africa, Mike managed teams of contractors, engineers, and architects to develop award-winning, efficient facilities and large capital construction projects in Colorado.
Mike has authored multiple publications and earned various research and project grants for financial analysis and energy project implementation.
Mike is a Professional Engineer, Certified Energy Manager, LEED AP, and bilingual with a wide range of domestic and international experience.
