Dr. Mengjin Yang received his Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Pittsburgh, where he investigated nanomaterials for solar energy conversion under the supervision of Prof. Jung-Kun Lee. His Ph.D. studies focused on bandgap engineering and carrier-transport characterization of oxide materials. After graduation, he spent two years as a postdoctoral researcher at Florida International University to set up photovoltaic research in Prof. Wenzhi Li’s laboratory—from dye-sensitized solar cells to emerging halide perovskite solar cells. Since 2014, he has been working on perovskite device fabrication and characterization at NREL under the advisement of Dr. Kai Zhu.
