Christopher Kinchin joined the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in 2007. Since then, he has specialized in process design, simulation, and economic analysis of biomass conversion and biofuels processes, primarily techno-economic evaluations of thermochemical biomass to liquid fuels routes, such as gasification, pyrolysis, and hydrothermal liquefaction. Kinchin also supports algae techno-economic evaluations and strategic energy analysis projects, such as biochemical market analysis. Prior to joining NREL, Kinchin worked on biomass gasification and solid oxide fuel cell research at the Energy and Environmental Research Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
