More than half of U.S. states have renewable portfolio standards (RPS) in place and have collectively deployed approximately 46,000 MW of new renewable energy capacity through year-end 2012. Most of these policies have five or more years of implementation experience. In this webinar, analysts from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory discuss findings in their recent paper, which surveys and summarizes cost and benefit estimates of state-level RPS and examines the methods used to create these estimates. Understanding RPS benefits and costs can assist policymakers who are evaluating or considering RPS policies.
