Abengoa Solar and Arizona Public Service Planning 280 MW Facility in Arizona

February 25, 2008

Abengoa Solar signed a contract with Arizona Public Service Co. (APS) to build, own, and operate a 280 megawatt solar power plant--the Solana Generating Station.  Scheduled to be operating by 2011, the plant will be located outside Phoenix, near Gila Bend, Arizona.

The Solana plant, using a proprietary concentrating solar power trough technology developed by Abengoa Solar, will cover about 1,900 acres.  The electricity produced by Abengoa Solar will be sold to APS over a 30-year term, for a total revenue of around $4 billion.
