David Hurlbut Appointed to State RE Mapping Task Force

August 20, 2007

David Hurlbut, senior analyst with NREL's Strategic Energy Analysis and Applications Center (SEAAC), was recently appointed to Colorado Governor Bill Ritter's Renewable Resource Generation Development Area Task Force.

The panel will produce maps detailing the opportunities for renewable energy development in Colorado. Hurlbut will be working closely with NREL's geographic information services (GIS) group to produce the resource information. The maps and supporting materials are scheduled to be delivered to the Governor's Office and the General Assembly by Dec. 31.

Hurlbut joined NREL in January 2007 after working at the Texas Public Utility Commission (PUC) as a senior economist. While there, he worked on a similar effort that was very successful in identifying renewables in that state.
