In the Energy Systems Integration Facility's High-Pressure Test Laboratory, researchers can safely test high-pressure hydrogen components.

Key Infrastructure and Services

  • Co-located with energy storage activities such as ultra-capacitors, super conducting magnetic flywheel and mechanical energy storage systems
  • Concrete walls capable of sustaining an overpressure condition and able to act as secondary containment in the case of a component failure
  • Remote data and remote cameras used for test observation, providing the added safety mechanisms needed
